CATERPILLAR FEVER DREAM!!

Well, without really having planned to, I spent today writing a game for PyDay #5. Having checked out the themes just before going to bed last night, it looked unlikely that there would be any big surprises come the announcement ... until I discovered that, some time between my going to sleep and the official selection being made, someone managed to sneak "lettuce" onto the list of theme candidates.
Chard was the one who'd originally suggested entering, but then he slept through the morning and most of the afternoon, so I did most of the development on my own. Once he woke up we checked the PyDay rules and discovered that in a shock last-minute reversal team entries were allowed after all, so he made a few minor tweaks and arranged some music.
CATERPILLAR FEVER DREAM!! represents about seventeen hours of work, or about three per cent of the effort of one of our Pyweek submissions, but I'm pretty happy with it and if arcade-style high score battles in the face of ever-increasing hordes of brainless computer-controlled enemies are your thing, it's probably worth giving it a go.

I loved this entry. One of the highest quality PyDay entries I've seen.
